The Polestar 3 is equipped with a wide range of safety features, combining advanced technology with structural innovations to ensure both the protection and prevention of accidents. It includes a Driver Monitoring System that tracks the driver’s eyes and head movements to detect fatigue or distraction, issuing warnings and potentially initiating an emergency stop if necessary.
Additionally, the car features an Occupant Detection System that uses interior radars to prevent accidentally leaving children or pets inside, alerting the driver and preventing the doors from locking if movement is detected. The Blind Spot Information System alerts drivers to vehicles approaching from behind and assists in steering the car back into its lane if the driver intends to change lanes.
The Polestar 3 also offers forward collision avoidance, which automatically brakes to prevent or mitigate impacts involving pedestrians, cyclists, or other vehicles. Furthermore, it includes lane departure prevention features like Lane Keeping Aid and Run-off Road Mitigation, which help keep the car on the road by gently steering it back into its lane or applying brakes if necessary.
The car’s body is designed with safety in mind, featuring nine airbags and a strong steel structure to protect occupants in the event of a crash, along with post-impact braking to reduce the risk of secondary collisions. Moreover, the LiDAR system, available as an upgrade, enhances driver assistance capabilities by scanning the environment up to 250 meters away, even in poor conditions.
